November makeup

Image
Oh how enjoy painting my face. It's a relaxing and fun morningritual. Gives me a chance to center myself in the morning and starting my day with a creativity. I like to take pictures of my makeup- it's nice to have it documented and I can go back to looks I liked. So I thought why not share a selection of my makeup from this month! All the pics are taken with my phone in portait mode- no filter just the raw pic.  An rare  sight of me wearing makeup on my ENTIRE FACE. Since face  is my new normal, I usually don't wear blush or makeup products. I usually just wear concealer and eyeshadow in my day to day look. But this day I was filmed for a singing video at school. So naturally I had to go all out with the red lipstick and blush! wearing Tati beauty textured neutrals on the eyes, E.l.f blush palette on the cheeks. A berry version of the winged eyeliner look. Wearing some shades from the Tati beauty palette, textured neutrals. Sparkle sparkle- but I have to be honest I do NOT

Preppy fall

Image
One reason why i love fall is that it's the season of plaid. And oh how I love plaid skirts- there's something about it that just makes me feel put together. Like I'm a A student that has everything under control lol. I love the preppy trend, some wear a white pleated tennis skirt with a oversized sweater. However that's not really my style. I like matching something relaxed with something classy. So here's my version on the skirt sweater trend.

Using an app to plan my outfits?

Oh hi there Vegobabe! Sorry to go missing- school has been a lot ! (but also a lot of fun) One day my friend texted me that she misses Polyvore- and so do I! If you're not familiar with Polyvore it was a site where you could make fashion collages. Unfortunatley Polyvore site was shut down. So I started my research where to find the new Polyvore. And I found a couple different - my fave was Combyne. You can use it to plan dream outfits and even participate in challenges. But I use it as a form of outfit planning. What I do is I search items that are similar to the ones I already own. Sometimes I just play around with different combinations to see if they work- it's a lot of fun. And I guess I'm kinda weird in that way- since I've been little I always liked to plan outfits. And I still think the most exiting part of the morning is getting ready! Here’s to outfits I planned via the app and then put together!

2020 fall colour palette

Last year I created my own colour palette for fall . I did the same this year- I looked trough my pictures and got my perfect fall color palette. Jeans blue, dark blue, neutrals, olive tones, warm earthy tones and a touch of millennial pink.

What I've been wearing to school | Vegonista unplugged

At the last days of August, school and work has started. And the whirlwind of everyday life has started. I have a new routine. Since I usually start school at 10.45 I go to the office in the morning and work before bicycling to school. And since it has been a nice and warm August. Tough the cold temperature is creepin’ up. I’ve worn summer outfits. I thought why not share them and some insight in my school start.
If you don’t know- I currently study classical singing and work at an archive. My first week started with a bang. We had auditions to the operetta The Merry Widow. This picture is on the day before the audition. The weather was pertty warm so I went with a midi dress and a simple white button up. This outfit was a brave one. It's almost all white. and if you know me- you know how messy I am. However, I liked this outfit and survived the day without a single stain (can you imagine!?) This outfit I shared on Instagram stories. I was inspired by a fashion drawing that I spot

Olive tones

As much as I love summer I’m excited for the autumn! I’ve already made an autumn moodboard. And this time I got inspired by the lovely Audrey Coyne she taught me all about capsule wardrobes. However I have faaaar from a minimalist wardrobe- I still intend to use this concept to narrow down the clothes I’ll wear for different seasons. Color-wise I have pinned, olive, light mustard yellow, light and dark blue, beige and a light soft pink. Let’s see how the capsule wardrobe will work. Here’s one of the outfits I put tighter using the new method. I love my olive trousers- haven’t worn them in a while so feels like a new item. I paired it with my lovely leather jacket, it gives structure and a softness to the structured trousers. And to keep it casual a simple dark grey t-shirt.

Quick feel good makeup

Sometimes we all need a little pick me up. Small things to brighten up the day. Put on my favorite dress and do my makeup, it doesn’t matter that I’m spending the day at home doing nothing. If I catch my reflection in the mirror on a gloomy day, seeing myself in my favorite dress and some makeup sure cheers me up. I made a Instagram Reel of the makeup. This makeup is my go to when I’m in a hurry. You can watch my video here Song is by my dear friend Julia Simonsen, who launched her latest single Old Friend.

New Chapter | Vegonista unplugged

August is here, that means back to work and school! Tomorrow the balance of work and full time studies starts for me. As I mentioned in my previous Vegonista unplugged, I got accepted to study full-time classical singing. But of course as an adult, I still have to work during my studies. Luckily my new job is flexible with working hours.
In spring I made a big jump, I quit my steady job as a practical nurse. And started working an ”office job”. This was before even knowing about my studies. The weird thing is, for the past about 5 years I never got to express my style in my day to day life. Usually my wor k uniform has been scrubs or when I worked at daycare clothes that are practical. And I’m weirdly exited about expressing my style on the weekdays. I used to go ”all out” for the weekends when I could wear what ever I want.
I think I’ve heard the phrase ”it’s a peculiar year” about 100 times now. The pandemic has changed a lot, minimal contact and face masks. A lot of work and schoo

RED

My best styling tip is when in doubt go for monochromatic! Go for all black, white or as I did white. Usually I mix it then up with another color usually I choose something neutral.

Sunset on a blue dress

I've been living in t shirt dresses and this maxi dress is one of them. It's flowy and soft and I don't have to think so much about the styling while wearing it. Dress; Monki

The Body Shop summer favourites

Image
The body shop is one of my fave skincare brands out there. Honestly it’s the brand I grew up using. One of my clearest memories is the olive body butters scent after Friday Sauna.
It’s a great brand that is cruelty free and has loads of great vegan products. I ordered some of my summer must haves and thoughts O’d share my absolute vegan summer favorites from the brand. First up Skin defence 50 SPF sunscreen. This is my fave sunscreen! It’s pretty light in formula, sinks into the skin beautifully and doesn’t leave a white cast on my skin. Works great under makeup.
Aloe vera deodorant. This is a great deodorant, it’s for sensitive skin.  Suits my sensitive and dry skin perfectly. It’s is fraigrance free and doesn’t have that weird chemical smell some fragrance free products have. Coco calming face mist. A lovely face mist that feels cooling when my face feels sweaty and itchy. I sometimes use this as a setting spray to get a more glow.
Shea butter hair mask. Strongly recommend this if

Cristallized amethyst Catrice cosmetics| 3 looks 1 palette

Image
Earlier this spring I stated that I am on a makeup no buy. And so I intend to be to at least 2021. So I got inspired by Kelly Gooch to start doing 3 looks 1 palette. I’ve done two on my IGTV, Naked 3 and Naked Smokey. But I intend to keep the series going. ’Cause I have soooooo many palettes that really need some lovin’. Some of these palettes aren’t vegan but don’t worry I will disclosure that clearly! I Hope to inspire you to use your old palettes.
This time I have the vegan palette, Catrice cosmetics- Crystallized Amethyst a lovely palette with wonderful amethyst inspired colors. First up smokey purple look. I used the shade Power in the crease. On a small brush a took Vibe and smoked the outer corner and brought some of it to the crease. I smudged the shade Proud on my finger and applied it on the lid. I also used Proud on my lower lash line. On the inner corner I dotted some of the shade Crystal. A terra-cotta dream. This is a super easy quick look. I started to warm up the crease
