What I've been wearing to school | Vegonista unplugged

Image
At the last days of August, school and work has started. And the whirlwind of everyday life has started. I have a new routine. Since I usually start school at 10.45 I go to the office in the morning and work before bicycling to school. And since it has been a nice and warm August. Tough the cold temperature is creepin’ up. I’ve worn summer outfits. I thought why not share them and some insight in my school start.
If you don’t know- I currently study classical singing and work at an archive. My first week started with a bang. We had auditions to the operetta The Merry Widow. This picture is on the day before the audition. The weather was pertty warm so I went with a midi dress and a simple white button up. This outfit was a brave one. It's almost all white. and if you know me- you know how messy I am. However, I liked this outfit and survived the day without a single stain (can you imagine!?) This outfit I shared on Instagram stories. I was inspired by a fashion drawing that I spot

As much as I love summer I’m excited for the autumn! I’ve already made an autumn moodboard. And this time I got inspired by the lovely Audrey Coyne she taught me all about capsule wardrobes. However I have faaaar from a minimalist wardrobe- I still intend to use this concept to narrow down the clothes I’ll wear for different seasons. Color-wise I have pinned, olive, light mustard yellow, light and dark blue, beige and a light soft pink. Let’s see how the capsule wardrobe will work. Here’s one of the outfits I put tighter using the new method. I love my olive trousers- haven’t worn them in a while so feels like a new item. I paired it with my lovely leather jacket, it gives structure and a softness to the structured trousers. And to keep it casual a simple dark grey t-shirt.

Sometimes we all need a little pick me up. Small things to brighten up the day. Put on my favorite dress and do my makeup, it doesn’t matter that I’m spending the day at home doing nothing. If I catch my reflection in the mirror on a gloomy day, seeing myself in my favorite dress and some makeup sure cheers me up. I made a Instagram Reel of the makeup. This makeup is my go to when I’m in a hurry. You can watch my video here Song is by my dear friend Julia Simonsen, who launched her latest single Old Friend.

New Chapter | Vegonista unplugged

August is here, that means back to work and school! Tomorrow the balance of work and full time studies starts for me. As I mentioned in my previous Vegonista unplugged, I got accepted to study full-time classical singing. But of course as an adult, I still have to work during my studies. Luckily my new job is flexible with working hours.
In spring I made a big jump, I quit my steady job as a practical nurse. And started working an ”office job”. This was before even knowing about my studies. The weird thing is, for the past about 5 years I never got to express my style in my day to day life. Usually my wor k uniform has been scrubs or when I worked at daycare clothes that are practical. And I’m weirdly exited about expressing my style on the weekdays. I used to go ”all out” for the weekends when I could wear what ever I want.
I think I’ve heard the phrase ”it’s a peculiar year” about 100 times now. The pandemic has changed a lot, minimal contact and face masks. A lot of work and schoo

My best styling tip is when in doubt go for monochromatic! Go for all black, white or as I did white. Usually I mix it then up with another color usually I choose something neutral.
