T-shirt dress

Image
Finally it's time for vacay! To be honest last time I had a month off I was about 14... So this is loooong overdue. The spring has been crazy, new job and now I'm going to be a full time student. So grateful for this month that will give me time to settle and re-fule. Fashion wise I will probably wear T-shirt dresses. Such as this one from Monki, It's soft and easy to wear. I go for sandals or sneakers with this one. T-shirt dress is the perfect piece for the lazy girl. It's comfy and easy to style. It's easy to wear from day to night, just switch shoes or jewellry  maybe throw on red lipstick. I think for fall/winter I will probably stylle it with black tights and Doc Martens boots.

Is it going to be just another no?| Vegonista unplugged

I sat there with my phone refreshing the page over and over again. I mean it’s almost 9 am, publish the list of the new students already? At this point I don’t care if it’s a no, I just want to know. I feel the build-up of my intense training for this moment to see if my name is among the accepted to study classical singing… My path to this moment started when I was 6 stating proudly to my mom that I want to be a conductor. My mom sang at the time in a choir and I sat and watched the rehearsals. In fact, I was only 3 months old on my first practice. I was in awe over the conductors elegant waiving almost ballet like movements- he was a painter and the choir was the colours.   “Well” my mom said to my ambitious goal “you’ll have to learn the violin and piano”. So I did, I started with Violin lessons after that at the age of 10 I started to play the piano. I got to sing solo in church every Christmas. I auditioned to sing in the opera kids choir, I wasn’t accepted. Many of my fri...

The season of wrapskirts is finally here. I ordered some goodies from monki and I have to say I've been enjoying the big poofy sleeves and messy buns.

Summer layers

Image
Summer is finally here in Helsinki. I've enjoyed wearing dresses again. I've spotted a new trend. Knitted vests, preferably layered over dresses, white shirts or just on its own. First I felt this is not my thing... Every picture I looked at on Pinterest trying to convince me that "it would totally work for me"- I just found it had MAYOR Chandler Bing energy (lol). But I actually own a knitted top (not quite a vest but close enough). So I was playing around with different style combos. And I had on me my beautiful summer dress- I felt the top calling me "just try it". First I thought- nope doesn’t work. But after doing a couple twirls in front of the mirror- it just clicked. The top gives my basic summer dress some flare. Since my "makeup through the decades" post, I've really fallen in love with 60's hairstyles. I did a 60's inspired French twist.

Makeup through the decades 50s-90's

Image
Last time it was style through the decades, and I had so much fun so why not do makeup also! I asked you on Instagram if you’d like me to do makeup and 100% of you said YES. And I was pumped! So I started my research on the different makeup styles. I looked at ad’s popstars and most of my inspo was from pop culture (mostly American). Just to clarify in the span of 10 years a lot of trends comes and goes, the looks I chose was really just based on popularity. I tried to create the most “iconic” looks. So let’s just dive in the different styles!! First up the 50’s, femininity hourglass silhouette and polished makeup. Brows were arched and neat. The red lips were a staple, no nude lips here! And a winged liner is a must. Super glamourous and feminine. The 60’s with the cut crease and big twiggy eyes. As I portrayed the mod style in the outfits I thought why not channel my inner twiggy cut crease look. But this look was sure not a Twiggy exclusive look. This particula...

Garden party for one

Image
It's been a LOT of makeup lately on the blog... Think it might be that my outfits lately have been either sweatpants and an old tee or jeans and hoodie. But the weather has got me digging up my summer clothes. And why not dress up for enjoying coffee and a book at the backyard? So here's my garden party for one look. Since we don't have flowers at our concrete garden I decided to BE the flowers haha!

Per request here’s 3 looks 1 palette with Urban Decays Naked Smoky.   I’m not usually the one to grab the smoky tones to make a look. So this definitely challenged me, but it was fun! I actually learned that my eyes can “carry” smoky eyes! You can watch my IGTV here!   Disclaimer, this palette is not vegan. I purchased this before my vegan journey. Hope to inspire you to use your old palettes!
