New Chapter | Vegonista unplugged

Image
August is here, that means back to work and school! Tomorrow the balance of work and full time studies starts for me. As I mentioned in my previous Vegonista unplugged, I got accepted to study full-time classical singing. But of course as an adult, I still have to work during my studies. Luckily my new job is flexible with working hours.
In spring I made a big jump, I quit my steady job as a practical nurse. And started working an ”office job”. This was before even knowing about my studies. The weird thing is, for the past about 5 years I never got to express my style in my day to day life. Usually my wor k uniform has been scrubs or when I worked at daycare clothes that are practical. And I’m weirdly exited about expressing my style on the weekdays. I used to go ”all out” for the weekends when I could wear what ever I want.
I think I’ve heard the phrase ”it’s a peculiar year” about 100 times now. The pandemic has changed a lot, minimal contact and face masks. A lot of work and schoo...

My best styling tip is when in doubt go for monochromatic! Go for all black, white or as I did white. Usually I mix it then up with another color usually I choose something neutral.

I've been living in t shirt dresses and this maxi dress is one of them. It's flowy and soft and I don't have to think so much about the styling while wearing it. Dress; Monki

The Body Shop summer favourites

Image
The body shop is one of my fave skincare brands out there. Honestly it’s the brand I grew up using. One of my clearest memories is the olive body butters scent after Friday Sauna.
It’s a great brand that is cruelty free and has loads of great vegan products. I ordered some of my summer must haves and thoughts O’d share my absolute vegan summer favorites from the brand. First up Skin defence 50 SPF sunscreen. This is my fave sunscreen! It’s pretty light in formula, sinks into the skin beautifully and doesn’t leave a white cast on my skin. Works great under makeup.
Aloe vera deodorant. This is a great deodorant, it’s for sensitive skin.  Suits my sensitive and dry skin perfectly. It’s is fraigrance free and doesn’t have that weird chemical smell some fragrance free products have. Coco calming face mist. A lovely face mist that feels cooling when my face feels sweaty and itchy. I sometimes use this as a setting spray to get a more glow.
Shea butter hair mask. Strongly recommend thi...

Cristallized amethyst Catrice cosmetics| 3 looks 1 palette

Image
Earlier this spring I stated that I am on a makeup no buy. And so I intend to be to at least 2021. So I got inspired by Kelly Gooch to start doing 3 looks 1 palette. I’ve done two on my IGTV, Naked 3 and Naked Smokey. But I intend to keep the series going. ’Cause I have soooooo many palettes that really need some lovin’. Some of these palettes aren’t vegan but don’t worry I will disclosure that clearly! I Hope to inspire you to use your old palettes.
This time I have the vegan palette, Catrice cosmetics- Crystallized Amethyst a lovely palette with wonderful amethyst inspired colors. First up smokey purple look. I used the shade Power in the crease. On a small brush a took Vibe and smoked the outer corner and brought some of it to the crease. I smudged the shade Proud on my finger and applied it on the lid. I also used Proud on my lower lash line. On the inner corner I dotted some of the shade Crystal. A terra-cotta dream. This is a super easy quick look. I started to warm up the crease...

T-shirt dress

Finally it's time for vacay! To be honest last time I had a month off I was about 14... So this is loooong overdue. The spring has been crazy, new job and now I'm going to be a full time student. So grateful for this month that will give me time to settle and re-fule. Fashion wise I will probably wear T-shirt dresses. Such as this one from Monki, It's soft and easy to wear. I go for sandals or sneakers with this one. T-shirt dress is the perfect piece for the lazy girl. It's comfy and easy to style. It's easy to wear from day to night, just switch shoes or jewellry  maybe throw on red lipstick. I think for fall/winter I will probably stylle it with black tights and Doc Martens boots.

Is it going to be just another no?| Vegonista unplugged

I sat there with my phone refreshing the page over and over again. I mean it’s almost 9 am, publish the list of the new students already? At this point I don’t care if it’s a no, I just want to know. I feel the build-up of my intense training for this moment to see if my name is among the accepted to study classical singing… My path to this moment started when I was 6 stating proudly to my mom that I want to be a conductor. My mom sang at the time in a choir and I sat and watched the rehearsals. In fact, I was only 3 months old on my first practice. I was in awe over the conductors elegant waiving almost ballet like movements- he was a painter and the choir was the colours.   “Well” my mom said to my ambitious goal “you’ll have to learn the violin and piano”. So I did, I started with Violin lessons after that at the age of 10 I started to play the piano. I got to sing solo in church every Christmas. I auditioned to sing in the opera kids choir, I wasn’t accepted. Many of my fri...
