Hot pink starts spring

Image
Bring out the colour, cause now it's spring. Or so I've decided. It's soon March (can you believe it!?!). So I took my most vibrant knit in hot pink and started to build the outfit. I realised I haven't worn my dear leather skirt in a while so I grabbed it. And slowly the outfit was put together.  I'm quite happy with it. Feels casual yet fashionable and fun. A nice mix. So much fun new trends to be tried and worn can't wait!

Inspired by Blood Lust palette

Image
Since I'm on a no makeup buy I truly pushed myself to create a look with each and every eyeshadow palette I own. Earlier this week Jeffree Star revealed his new palette- Blood lust. A palette filled with stunning shades of purple. And if you follow me on IG- you know that I've been into purple/laveder looks. So you can imagine my reaction seeing an all purple palette. BUT I'm comitted, I've decided to use up my palettes before I hoard more. So why not make looks with my palettes inspired by Blood Lust. And when I started to go trough my Jsc palettes I noticed that a lot of them had purples in them. So I took all of them with my and started swatching- and ended up with four different looks. In the swatch pic there are shades from mini Jawbreaker, Jawbreaker and Blue Blood palette. First up a beautiful lavender look- this I created few weeks ago. And how I lovet it. In the Blood Lust palettes there is a lot of wonderful pastel purples such as this Lavender. I ...

The vintage pouch

Bottega Veneta is that you!? That was actually my first thought on seeing this bag. This weekend I’ve been doing a big cleanout at home. So there I was knee deep in clothes form my grandma and mom. I saw a box filled with handbags and I went through it and saw it. THE bag. Yes the one, for spring 2020. I truly astonished me how similar this bag is to the Bottega Veneta IT bag. I’ve seen it be worn on all the fashion it girls. The bag I’m talking about is the Pouch bag. The small one that is carried usually as a medium sized clutch. It looks so light- like a small cloud. However, this has the handles so it’s more user friendly for the everyday fashionista- and not only for Fahsionweek.   It’s funny how much of my fave pieces in my wardrobe is vintage, thrifted or something I’ve found at the back of a closet. I think it might be in the history behind the piece. It feels unique.

Makeup- no buy spring | Vegonista unplugged

I have a problem a makeup problem. I realised that I have WAY too much makeup. I mean it’s my hobby, my interest- my de stressor (is that a word who knows).   It has come to a point that I just look at my collection and realise that…. I may never get to using any of these up? Is that normal? In this time of consumption my collection might not seem so big. But it’s a lot for a happy amateur. Makeup truly gives me joy, makes me forget time and troubles. But the mind-set of buying new stuff just because the novity. How many neutral palettes dose one really need? In makeup the term from fast fashion has creeped in. Such as in fashion there is a mentality of “fast makeup”. Meaning new launches every week, so much so keep up with. I know deep down that I don’t need every new palette that is  released. So I unfollowed every influencer I felt that was “pushing” new products. And started following people that used up their palettes. I suddenly felt exited by the “project pan...

Creamy Camel

Image
Sometimes all you need to spice up an outfit is a pair of fun tights. As you can see in this look. Lately I’ve been all about colour matching and monochromatic looks. Here I’ve stuck with my fave colours a creamy camel. The satin skirt has been a staple on the holidays, it dresses up any lazy outfit. Even if I wear a hoodie and the skirt the look seems put together. The bag is my cute little Michael Kors backpack, and it just came to me- hey I can use this also as a cross bag!? The tights are from Monki and I think they are a fun way to tie the look together. Not going to lie I’ve had a bit of trouble incorporating them in looks. But I think they work best in basic outfits as a pick me up. Sometimes the most basic looks can easily be spiced up with tights or accessories. Angelic neutrals

Since it’s the roaring 20’s again I’ve been inspired by the 20’s. I’ve been scrolling on Pinterest and fell down a rabbit hole of 20’s style and pictures. So I tried to make a modern version of a classic 20’s foe bob.   So I tamed my very messy hair in a very loose “birds nest” looking twist, clipped it in with a claw- made sure it was loose enough to look as a short bob. To top it off I added a cute headband. And tadaaah- my modern twist on a 20’s hairstyle. Definitely a hairstyle I will wear! Makeup is neutral, a dot of concealer and mascara. I blotted my lips lightly with my lipstick and applied some of it on the cheeks. For the outfit I kept it simple and chic, sometimes you need your look to breath. And this time I let the hairdo shine and dressed in winter neutrals. Of course I wore the long puffer (have been wearing it the whole week). I like the look it’s simple, chic yet fun with the hair. Long puffer

Image
So I picked up the latest Elle magazine for fashion inspiration. And they had a piece on long puffer jackets. And I thought- wait a minute I think my mom had one of these!! So there I went with determination digging in my mom’s clothes. AHA and I found it. So I looked at it… planned around it. What would work with a long puffer? And I released of course – A long skirt and funky tights with my sneakers. And voila there it is, the comfy and cool outfit. I paired the puffer with my dear Marimekko bag. Some would say matching snake print and leo is a big no no. But I say rules are meant to be broken, I think animal print mitch matching is going to be a thing! I took my fave sneakers from Nike and just because I wore orange tights to match them. I think I’ll steal this jacket from mom for this coming late winter. You never know what you might find in your mom’s closet, I suggest you to dig around. Knit; Kappahl Skirt; Lindex Tights; Lindex Shoes; Nike Bag;...
